The Spring Lake Rotary Club is proud to present their December Student of the Month - Mia Davidson! 

Mia Davidson, daughter of Rob and Diana Davidson, has been named Spring Lake High School’s Rotary Student of the Month for December. She will be honored by the Spring Lake Rotary at their December 7th meeting.  
 
Mia immerses herself in her schoolwork, the arts and her community.  She currently carries a 4.0 gpa and is an IB diploma candidate.   Mia has been a member of National Honor Society since 2017 and she participates in the Be Nice Club.  This past summer, Mia attended the National Student Leadership Conference at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
 
The arts play a critical role in Mia’s life.  She has been in the drama club from 9th – 12th grade, the past three years serving as Dance Captain.  She has earned lead dance roles and solos throughout much of her high school drama career.  She is a talented singer having performed at District Solo and Ensemble and named to the MSVMA Regional and All- State Honors choirs from 9th -11th grade.  Mia is also an accomplished pianist.
 
Service to others is Mia’s passion. Mia is the founder and president of the SL Chapter of Girl Up, a global leadership development initiative, positioning girls to be leaders in the movement for gender equality.  With that she has organized a garage sale, International Day of the Girl Photo Booth, the viewing of the movie Girl Rising and helped organize the Spring Lake and Grand Haven Girl Up 5k.   She is a current Teen Advisory Council member for Extended Grace, volunteers with the Prom with a Purpose program, worked an Indiana relief trip to help rebuild after devastating floods, and traveled to Cusco, Peru for a service trip.  She currently volunteers at The People Center’s food bank, Seven Steps Up Courtyard Concert Series and has completed intern work with the Spring Lake Summer Theatre and with the Congressional Campaign of Rob Davidson.  
 
When Mia graduates from Spring Lake High School she hopes to continue her education at either Barnard College or New York University to study Political Science.
