Janna Ercole, daughter of Michael and Michelle Ercole, has been named Spring Lake High School’s Rotary Student of the Month for January. She was honored by the Spring Lake Rotary at their January 25th meeting.

Janna’s exciting news came recently when she received a phone call from U.S. Congressman Bill Huizenga congratulating her on her acceptance to the United States Military Academy West Point.  She will prepare for a career of service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army.

To prepare for her upcoming Army career, Janna has immersed herself in studies.  She currently maintains a 4.0 gpa carrying a heavy load of both AP and IB courses as well as a Dual Enrollment course.  She has been on the Superintendent’s honor roll her entire high school career.  She also earned the AP Scholar award.

Janna is also very active in her school and community.  She attended a Summer Leadership Conference at West Point as well as the American Legion Girls State.  She also donates her time as a jr. volunteer at NOCH and is a member of the Grand Haven Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council.   In her school community, Janna is a member of the Rotary’s Interact Club, has been on Student Council for two years, National Honor Society for three years and is the Chairperson of the Be Nice! Club.

Athletics are also an important part of Janna’s life.  She has been a four year member of the cross country team.  Janna was voted as a team captain her senior season and was awarded the Laker Award in 2018.   She also plays softball not only with SLHS but with a travel team as well.

Congratulations again to Janna!
